These are nice little glasses. The weight - or lack of it - is the highlight.
What I liked:
- Under 7 ounces.
- Crystal clear optics, edge to edge.
- Fluid focus movement with "low-gear" turn ratio which makes them easy to fine tune.
- Barrels are aligned spot-on.
- Tight, decent built quality.
They are not sealed, however. Not waterproof ...not gas filled. They also do not fold up tightly. I did not think that would be an issue since they lay nice and flat in the pants cargo pocket. I really liked that coupled with the feather weight. But, they were difficult to remove from the pocket. It was not something I could do one-handed, and do it quickly .
I did not keep them. At a lower price, I would have accommodated a permanent home for them in my suitcase. Plus, they would have been economical to replace should they "sprout legs."
I went with the Nikon Trailblazer 8x25 ATB available on Amazon. Even at just 11-ounces, they were notably heavier in the pocket, but they were faster to "whip" out, as they fold up tightly. If you prefer neck straps, this is a moot point.

I wanted to get gifts for my father in-law and brother in-law I am planning on visiting in China. I was hopeful a name brand like Nikon would be a nice touch. After reviewing the Nikon Trailblazer I was reluctant to pull the trigger because the reviews mentioned the eye sockets would fold in when placed on face so I went with this product the Nikon T02 instead. The rubber grip on the eye piece twisted off while adjusting and you could see where it was glued in instead of interlocking with the frame. I went with the Pentax 8-16 x 21 parro instead because I own the papillio 6.5x21 and 20x60 Pentax and they are better constructed than Nikon. Nikon is a big brand name and I wanted to impress my inlaws even though personally I prefer the Pentax designs so I'm going with plan B, I hope they like it. The 8x was clear but because of the small size it was awkward placing up against my eyes. FOV was ok for the tradeoff.
The product box was crushed up and wasn't sealed in clear plastic. it looked used or refurbished.
The build was sturdy and metal I was impressed initially until the rubber grip came unglued bad sign lol.
I returned them both.
I am done with big binoculars unless used at home. If the new Pentax 8x16x21 work out I will buy one for myself Nikon need to fire their quality control personnel.
